Hello and thank you dear friends,
Last night [Tuesday, May 20, 2008] was my first Archimedes Eastside Portland chapter meeting. To say the least: I was blow away by all the compassion and directive force of its members. Wow! After an hour and a half of heart-felt determination lead by thoughtful conversation… it simply makes my heart sing knowing that there are folks out there making health care better—for everyone involved. A community of concerned citizens banding together to promote a truly altruistic cause… wow...I whistled all the way home.
I am humbled and am in awe of what we shall accomplish. Thanks for letting me be part of such an amazing piece of history.
Here's to change. The Archimedes Movement strategy is pure genius.
Best,
- C. Biscuit

Although personal travel has prohibited me from attending recent Eastside meetings, Kimberly Ann's comments reflect how I have felt over the last year of participation. I'm recalling the story of a youngster who when asked if he was concerned about nuclear destruction, replied that no, his grandparents and parents were working on it so he wasn't concerned. I consistently have the feeling that although getting where we want to go will take several decades, I'm not too worried because good people are working on it. It is a privilege to have these opportunities to participate in our evolution to health care we can be proud of as Oregonians. Thanks, Seabiscuit!
