The First Annual Membership Conference of the Archimedes Movement is now less than five weeks away - June 14, 2008.
This "founding convention" will mark the next phase of growth for the Archimedes Movement – growing to be an organization where people join as members to help shape direction and strategies for the movement. Your participation on the 14th will help lay the groundwork for our next steps, including the creation of our Community Leadership Council. And since grassroots support is a big part of our success, you should be there with us as we celebrate our accomplishments.
June 14th will also mark Day One of the Archimedes Movement having both members and supporters. This is a key element of the structure that has been drafted by the Interim Steering Committee. You'll be hearing from them – and seeing the proposed structure – in the first week of June.
About June 14th
Some important details have been solidified since we sent out the 'save the date' announcement. We'll be holding our first annual member conference on the campus of Lewis and Clark College. It is a beautiful campus. You can see a fabulous view of Mt. Hood on a clear day, which we hope to have for our event. I particularly hope you'll become a member and visit with me at the members-only reception after the conference ends.
The details we have so far are on our Annual Conference page; a finalized, detailed agenda will be posted on June 1st. You can also call Matt Webber (503.860.5854) if you have any questions. I look forwarding to seeing you on the 14th.
