Now that the long presidential campaign is over, one in which health care has played a prominent role, we can see a good chance something will get done. One of my concerns is that another "band aid" could be applied to the problem, leading folks to wrongly believe that the problem has been solved.

Perfect health for everyone, as a goal for a health care system, is when an individual doesn't need medical attention (including for mental health) except for periodic check-ups to ensure the condition persists.

I attended yesterday's workshop on creating the Archimedes Movement's message. During the course of the day health care and the profit motive came up several times. I could not remember exactly the quote I used back in June when I was writing a letter to the editor in response to an excellent letter by Dr. Paul Hochfeld, also a participant in yesterday' workshop.
